Year's refreshing film is possibly WAKE UP SID!!, which is an up-coming age youth appealing flick. Yes, the film is under Dharma Production but unlike films like K3G, KANK,KHNH, here you won't get any exotic locations, actress wearing saris and actors dancing on their tunes, no family melodrama. Wake up Sid is based on Mumbai around simple characters with heart of gold. RANBIR KAPOOR is the soul of film delivering career's best performance as a lazy chap Sid. He is hugely complimented by his co-star KONKONA SEN SHARMA, we have seen her in similar independent-driven characters however it is her natural enthusiasm the asset of the film. SUPRIYA PATHAK & ANUPAM KHER shines as Sid's parents, especially Supriya she is so adorable. Despite having weak communication skills in English she tries to converse so that she can melt her son's stoned heart. Even though you can't find the kind of film-making of DIL CHAHTA HAIN which is still the brilliant up-coming age film till date.

Yet WAKE UP SID is pure, genuinely heart-warming film. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. 'wake up sid' is a refreshing movie in some aspects but overall karan johar missed a great opportunity. It starts brilliantly wid some funny moments n good acting by ranbir kapoor.
